Stinky Shoe Remedy #009 – Freshen with Febreze

I spray Febreeze in the kids shoes every night before bed or as often as necessary and it does the trick around here.

While I’m not a die-hard Febreze user, I’m familiar with the product.  I did some research and some guy named  Jorge is certainly also a fan of using Febreze Sport.  Manufacturer claims you can “Eliminate tough sports odors with the new Febreze® SPORT Extreme Odor Eliminator.  It is specifically formulated to find and eliminate sweat odors on shoes, apparel and gear.”  Sounds good to me.  Must admit it creeps me out to spray chemicals in my shoes, especially since I wear quite a few pairs barefoot.  My thinking is, if the spray is strong enough to kill the bad bacteria, isn’t it strong enough to kill some of the good microbes on and in your body as well?  I prefer a simple solution that prevents shoes from stinking in the first place.  Keep ‘em dry and fresh with Stuffitts Shoe Savers.
