Stinky Shoe Remedy #010 – What You Need is Some Heavy Metal
PROPOSED HOME REMEDY
After reading ALL those ideas about stinky feet and shoes,I would have thought someone would have mentioned my suggestion. I can’t remember where I heard it, but it works. Start taking Zinc on a daily basis. I, as well as one of my sons had horrific problems with foot odor, and this did the trick. Give it a try.

Hmmm. Zinc, eh? I’ve certainly heard of taking Zinc but usually as part of a daily multivitamin. So, to educate myself on the matter, I thought I’d do a quick search and see what I can come up with. This brought me to an article appropriately titled, “The Benefits of Zinc“. As expected, zinc does a lot of positive stuff, such as: help maintain a healthy immune system, maintaining sense of taste and smell and facilitating DNA synthesis (that sounds important…). There’s also a lot of different ways to take Zinc including lozenges, sprays and pills (of course). I did not know that. I also learned that alcoholics are often zinc deficient, and diarrhea also causes zinc loss. Unfortunately, nowhere in the article does it mention zinc as a cure for stinky feet. Sorry. If someone finds evidence of this home remedy claim, please comment. I’d love to see it!
In light of this, I have to give a thumbs down to using zinc as a cure for stinky feet. Probably makes sense to take as part of a daily multivitamin for general health, though.
Looks like we’re left with Stuffitts Shoe Savers, as the better alternative to getting rid of those stinky shoes and feet. I know these things work. Use ‘em everyday!
